Pus smells like peppermint?

My toe was bothering me, so I went to trim the nail thinking it may be growing in, which I cleaned the area a clear liquid came from around there and it smelled like peppermint, same as my chewing gum that I chew a few times a week. I recently went to Norfolk State University's open house and they accept over 100 applicants, but there classroom sizes and 20 to 30 plus and only 10 people at a time go out on clionicals. I have a friend who went to ECPI in Virginia Beach and she said it was awful there. I would be at community college another year if I wanted to apply to ODU or Sentara New Traditional Bachelor program. I'm currently focusing on staying @ TCC and applying to there's and NSU's Nursing Program, and a LPN program to keep my options open. Hi does this Navy sailor supposed to earn a Purple Heart?

A Purple Heart may only be given for injuries sustained in combat. In the Army we have the Soldiers Medal which is used to reward a Soldier for actions which if had they occurred in combat would have resulted in the awarding on a Bronze Star. So if a Soldier saves a person from a burning car at risk to his own life, The Navy doesn't appear to have a "Sailors Medal" so they would likely use an commendation medal or a Bronze Star for this.

What's wrong with my beagle?!?

i have a 3 year old beagle and she is completely crate trained.whenever she needs to go outside to do her business, she rings the bell attached to the doorknob but today she didn't. All of a sudden she peed on her bed then ran away scared and peed next to our family room couch. i pushed her outside but she immediately peed on the concrete when she got out. Then she started walking down the steps but she was shivering and the way she stepped was like a robot. at the bottom of the stairs she sat down and she was shaking all over,drooling, and her eyes became unfocused. I tried to get her to stand up and go to the grass but once she stood up she started swaying and it looked like her thighs were flexing and unflexing really fast. she finally got to the grass and she lied down and drooled uncontrollably. 5 minutes later she got up really slow and started walking around like nothing happened!! She seems fine now but she acts nervous around me. This has happened to her before after she went jogging but she wasn't shaking or peeing uncontrollably. Did she have a seizure or something? what should i do?

There is failure of the circulatory system to maintain adequate blood flow." If you didn't see the badger bleeding you might have simply broke it's spine which would result in paralysis. There's nothing anyone could do for that badger and it suffered too much damage to ever go back and survive in the wild. Moving tips from virginia to california?

I'm moving to California from Virginia for college this fall and I only have two months left before my move and I need to get things rolling. I have a car I bought a few months ago and will taking it with me in California. I will be moving from norfolk, va to san Luis obispo, ca to be exact. Is my dog in labor??????

She is pregnant about 60 days into her pregnancy. She has been panting since about 9:00 this morning and its now almost 3pm. She doesn't seem to terribly uncomfortable but she doesnt want to lay down. Shes panting with her mouth open and its causing her to drool a little bit. Is it normal for my arm to be sore after about 24 hrs?

Yesterday at about 1:50 I got a few shots. 2 in one arm and in the other. So when I got home it was really sore, then when I peeled off the bandaid and it was purple like a bruise. Friend who won't ever return romantic feelings?

I gotta say I’ve been in love with a guy friend for nearly 2 years. Maybe not in love, but crazy over him. I’ve accepted the fact that he probably won’t ever return those feelings back. I don’t think that I measure up *physically* to what he is looking for. And besides, we have already talked about us dating and I know it’s pretty much a dead end. Nonetheless, for most of the 2 years I’ve known him, we’ve been pretty good friends, talking nearly every night online or through text and whatnot. We have very candid conversations that go on for hours about nearly any topic. So I’ve obviously gotten to know him a bit. And I’ve gotten to know some of his flaws – like him being self-centered, self-important, shallow, vain, etc. I’ve expressed to him my thoughts about that on a couple of occasions, and he takes great offense in it and insists that he isn’t like that. He even stopped talking to me for a month. I confronted him about that, and he says that he doesn’t want to be friends with someone who thinks some “false things” about him. Well, I’m not going to apologize to him for what I think. But little does he know that the reason I’m so harsh to him (in my head and sometimes through our conversations) is because I’m trying to make myself believe that he isn’t worthy because I know I’ll never have him. He is in love with some beautiful chick named Laura. I know I can’t compare, despite me not being ugly or fat per se …. But I simply don’t stack up to this girl, she is drop dead gorgeous. He has gotten to know me and seen what I’m about, and it still has not had an effect on him (as in, “Hey this girl is pretty cool and she’s not bad-looking”). Yet he barely knows this girl but he drools over her because of how hot she is. I’ve known that he won’t ever like me like I like him, so my heart has put up some barriers, and have become overly critical of him. Truth is, he’s a decent guy but based on what he said to me a couple nights ago, he thinks that I think of him as this bad person or something. I don’t really think of him like that, and while I DO really think that he is vain, I’m OVERLY harsh on him because of my resentment of him not returning those feelings to me. Kind of like, if you can’t have ‘em then they *must* suck type of thing. Flawed thinking, I know, but it’s a defense mechanism. I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m considering just leaving things as they are (us not talking anymore), let him continue to think what he wants, and just move on with my life, with him being none the wiser of my underlying present feelings. Maybe I could truly get over him this way, instead of going a couple of months with the feelings surpressed and then realizing that I wasn’t really over it after all.

Belly piercing problem. Advice? Help? ?

Okay. Today I've had my belly piercied for 4 weeks already. During the 3rd week I started noticing that I had a white/light green mucus discharge coming out. Last night I went to my bedroom and I turned on the light. Very briefly I saw a purple flash in the lower corner of my eye. I thought it was a problem with the light so I turned it off, rubbed my eyes and stepped out. I tried to recreate it by walking in and quickly turning on the light but it didn't work. There weren't street lights turned on or anything outside the window. I thought it was the reflection of the box springs wheel so I sat down and I tried looking at it with the light on from different angles. Nothing. This isn't the first time stuff like this has happened. I will just be sitting watching tv and I'll see a white flash in my right eye. What is this? I'm not on any medication, I'm not mentally ill. I can't read out of my right eye and the doctor said my body is only using the left eye (unless I close my left eye) What is this? If I'm going / am blind in my right eye why am I seeing things?

ok so my neighbors have been seeing a stray cat come in and out of there yard well today they found him in the corner of there garage he was hissing every time they got close to him and he was panting hard like he was having a heat stroke or something but then he moved and layed down somewhere else then she went to check on him cause she thought he was ok but then he started meowing like he was hurt so she tried to help him and he hissed at her really loud then he started panting really hard he was almost like drooling it looked like saliva then she told me that it started just pouring out of his mouth then it started to turn colors like a brownish color almost then he got to where he was bearly breathing and it looked like he was having spasms in his chest to stomach area when he breathed which was shallow then all of a sudden out of no where he started gushing blood out of his chest hear his little arm she ran in to get a towel while i was on the phone with the vet but when she picked him up he passed away in her arms but he didnt have a puncture wound or anything and wasnt bleeding at all until he took one of his last breaths so im wondering what could have happened to him?? it looks like something ate there way out from the inside cause like i said he was bleeding or anything he just started gushing blood could he have been posoined or has anyone seen this before???

How to touch up my horse and also get a bond?

I have just started leasing a horse in May. Being a 13 yr old half arab who was slightly abused a long time ago, she is a little jumpy and unsure, but is a real sweetie. She is great at riding but sometimes, she just does not listen at all. She will turn and go all over the place, despite my handling on the reins. I think we are at the point in our relationship where she is testing my position as boss. What are some exercises that show her who is boss? I like to use natural methods, like how the horses do it in the wild. But anything else is great as well. Now with lunging, she could use some touching up. At the walk, she turns different directions all the time. When cantering, she is good but at random times will spin around. It is a great miracle if she can get a canter in for one whole circle. I know to hold the whip so she will not turn, but it does not work. So how can I get her to lunge properly? When I put the bit in, she flings her head around and refuses to let me put it in. She loves her copper bit, drooling over it. But putting it in is a chore. I can not put my finger in her mouth as she wont hold still! I try to hold her head bu nothing will work. How can I make this process easier on the both of us? Catching her in the field is easy but sometimes, she canters away from me, like on a hot day. She sees me and her pasture mate happily comes to me, but she is like "oh boy! here comes my workout!" How can I make her trust me more? I feel as if we have a weak bond so far, and I know it takes time, but I really would like to have an iron bond. How do horses bond in the wild? How can I bond with her? I have sat with her and scratched her favorite spot...groomed her well and have walked with her. But I feel little love. She likes to rub her head on me and I know she likes me...so it is not that she hates me. Now my last issue: She is herd bound when alone with me. She will turn and try to go back to them. She runs right in front of me and tries to get to their pasture fence. I do not ride her alone yet, but when leading. During these moments...there is no respect for me. How do I show her whose boss, how can I lunge her properly, how can I help her trust me more and how can I get her to stop being herd bound to the point where she runs me over. I know she was abused...not too bad...but just a little abuse can do allot of damage. She trusts her pasture mate and not her rider. I know a horse and rider bond is a two way thing, so how can I improve my handling of her as well? Any natural ways to get trust and love? I know the blowing in the nose, but anything else? So... Here's my question: I accidentally left my garage door open last night, and a raccoon came in and was poking about in my recycling bin and trying to get into the garbage can (why, I don't know, as both were quite empty- some lingering odor or odors, perhaps). In doing so, it clambered onto some various hand tools/etc. that are kept to the side of where the recycling bin and garbage can are. I managed to scare the animal out of the garage (it was pretty adamant about not wanting to leave, actually) without having to physically come in contact with it; supposing that this raccoon might possibly be rabid, is it possible for someone to contract rabies by touching those surfaces that the animal walked on/touched, those surfaces that it might have possibly, for example, drooled on? I didn't come in contact with any of those surfaces with my hands last night; closing the door entailed touching things that the raccoon could not possibly have gotten in contact with. I will, to be sure, need to be using the aforementioned hand tools some time in the days to come, possibly even later today. Yeah... I know, I'm being a bit of a paranoiac here, but does anyone have some good, straight to the point info for me? I thank you in advance for your replies.

my hair is black and I was going to add some chunks of bleached hair that are colored neon green and neon yellow. And I obviously need to bleach it. But I dont want to go to a salon and I have bleached parts of my hair before and dyed it before. It came out good every time. Belly Piercing Problem? Advice? Help?

Okay. Today I've had my belly piercied for 4 weeks already. During the 3rd week I started noticing that I had a white/light green mucus discharge coming out. I haven't changed it, and I clean it 2x a day. I'm still wearing the original barbell that I got when it was pierced. So i headed down to the southwest office. They were very nice and helpful. They gave me a brand new Traveler's Choice 27 inch bag(which, by the way is an off-brand type of bag). Can military service permanately destroy a man's chance of dating, settling down, and marrying?

I feel that, based upon my own personal experience, that the answer to this question would be a resounding yes. However, I would like others' opinions on this as well. Specifically, I am referring to men who enlist in the military directly upon high school graduation. Based upon my observations, it seems that most men (and women) go to college directly after high school and do not have to join the armed forces like I did. Moreover, it seems to me that 85 to 90% of college students are "traditional" aged students who graduate no later than 23 years old and are usually married no later than age 26. There is a HUGE misperception among Americans that 99% of American citizens support our active duty military personnel. That couldn't be further from the truth as I know for a fact that military personnel are viewed with downright contempt in southeast VA and eastern NC. This creates an atmosphere that is counterproductive with regards to dating for Marines and sailors stationed in places like this because all of the single women are outside Norfolk, VA and Jax, NC where servicemen and women are not welcome. The only guys who got married while I was on active duty were guys from smaller towns in the midwest and the southeast who ended up marrying their hometown sweethearts. I got out of the service and proceeded to go directly into the workforce. My workplace shut down and I became one of those student veterans that is using the GI Bill. I currently live in CO's second largest "city" and it is impossible to date here unless you were pretty much born and raised here as the town that I live in is very cliquey to say the least. I am originally from a larger city in the southeast and know that I am moving back there when I finally graduate from college here. I don't want to move back to the same city in which I was born in. With that said, do any of you all know of some good LARGER cities in the southeast that I could move to where I wouldn't be looked upon as strange and/or gay since I am now in my very early 30s, am not married, and have no children? Quite frankly, upon graduation from college, I will be too old to begin dating and I refuse to play the role of daddy for the childern of the myriad amounts of single moms out there who are my age. I recently moved to norfolk (in the uk) and left my girlfriend back home, obviously i didn't want to move i was forced as someone in the family got a job and so what can i do/get her to keep her next time i visit (in 3 days). My duck had a band rapped tightly on its leg that i had not noticed. Nearly a week went by and I noticed the string after seeing its foot had turned purple. (My duck is free range so I didn't notice the string soon after it was caught up) - brother told me he saw the string a week prior. I Have a Boxer puppy ,male the problem with him is that he won't eat. All he does is drink water when he throws up its water plus this white foamy substance. Why does my dog throwing up and drooling so much?

At first she was throwing up a lot, she was throwing up grass and some of her dog food and some white sort of stuff. Then I kept her from eating the grass and she stopped. Afterwards, I left her outside with a bowl of milk, a bowl of water w/ baking soda ( my grandmother said that would help), a bowl of water w/ ice, and a bowl of Coca-Cola(I just thought that would help her somehow). I'm 13 years old and I want to dye my hair a dark-ish brown. Right now I have hair that's sort of in-between light and medium brown hair with natural blonde highlights. I want to dye my hair darker bcause I think it will look really nice with my skin and eye color, and also I just got braces and I think it'll work a lot better with them than my current color. However, one of my friends is always dying her hair really badly and it looks terrible on her because she dyes it unnatural colors like orange and black (which doesn't look natural because she's pale with green-blue eyes) and then doesn't take care of it so you can see her roots. My mom says that she, and i quote, "looks like a cheap hooker". I have no clue how my mom drew that conclusion but anyways, because of her I'm not allowed to dye my hair. I can get a streak in it, like a blue or purple streak, but most of my hair has to remain this color. I think that is 100% unfair and unreasonable. The reason I want to dye it is because she forced me to get braces, which I absolutely did not want (my teeth aren't even crooked). Besides, tons of kids at my school dye their hair and look great with it. It's just that the only kid she's seen with dyed hair does it terribly and doesn't take care of it. Something is wrong with my dog?

I have a three year old Great Dane named Miles, over the last hour or so he has been acting really strange. Nonetheless, for most of the 2 years I’ve known him, we’ve been pretty good friends, talking nearly every night online or through text and whatnot. We have very candid conversations that go on for hours about nearly any topic. So I’ve obviously gotten to know him a bit. And I’ve gotten to know some of his flaws – like him being self-centered, self-important, shallow, vain, etc. I’ve expressed to him my thoughts about that on a couple of occasions, and he takes great offense in it and insists that he isn’t like that. He even stopped talking to me for a month. I confronted him about that, and he says that he doesn’t want to be friends with someone who thinks some “false things” about him. Well, I’m not going to apologize to him for what I think. But little does he know that the reason I’m so harsh to him (in my head and sometimes through our conversations) is because I’m trying to make myself believe that he isn’t worthy because I know I’ll never have him. He is in love with some beautiful chick named Laura. I know I can’t compare, despite me not being ugly or fat per se …. But I simply don’t stack up to this girl, she is drop dead gorgeous. Well I like this boy and I've known him ever since the last day of school LAST YEAR. I really really hate my baby?

Cat died after possibly ingesting something poisonous?

Four days ago, after being fine all morning, I noticed my cat was uncontrollably drooling, and sitting in one spot acting strangely. I tried giving her water, and cleaning the drool off, but she continued to drool constantly. I had no money to see a vet, and scoured the internet for answers as to why this was happening, and prayed that she was just going to throw up, and be okay. After about 40 minutes after noticing her drooling, She went into some sort of seizure/fit (meowing and jumping into walls accompanied by very heavy breathing, then just laid on my bathroom floor. after about ten minutes of sitting with her on the floor she died right in front of me. This is by far one of the hardest things I've ever been through, as I loved this cat very much (took her in as a stray about 8 years ago, and for some reason she only seemed to trust me out of my family, and was very skittish around others. Yet, she slept with me every night, and would practically never leave me alone. I'm assuming she had a history of abuse.) As my family didn't have much money, we weren't able to take her to the vet, but knew that she had obviously been spayed, and such. She could have possibly been up to four years old I'd say when we took her in. I took very good care of her, and she was always happy, and healthy seeming. (forgot, she looked to be an almost pure-bred Persian cat). My question is that after her dying, I noticed a spot where she had been drooling right before dying, and it looks almost as if there is glitter in it. I can't find anything with glitter, or anything like that in my home. Anyone have any ideas. I'm hoping this was a death due to some sudden illness, or freak occurrence, rather than poisoning, as I'm having so much trouble dealing with the guilt of not being able to take here to a vet.

Do not understand why she was denied. Her and my father were married when he died. Says to qualify she had to meet requirements. Married to my dad under the laws of Chesapeake Va where he lived when he died. They were married in Norfolk thought marriage laws were state laws not city. You went through a legal ceremony which you thought resulted in a legal marriage and living together when he died. You have the same rights as a spouse to inherit from dad under the laws of Chesapeake Va. We live in North Carolina. Her and my dad separated but never divorced because of me. Trying to Understand Girlfriend?

Been in a relationship with a girl for 3 months. It has been pretty much a fast relationship which has resulted in her moving in with me recently. Yesterday I decided to be really nice and went to the store and bought her flowers. I ended up having to go to a second store because the first one didn't have purple flowers. Purple is her favorite color and before she moved in I sent her purple roses which she seemed to like. She knew that I had to go to two stores to find what I thought she would like. When I brought them home she wasn't surprised at all and really didn't even seem interested. I trimmed off the ends and put them in a vase and put them on the counter. A couple of hours later I asked why she didn't like them. She then told me that she didn't like daisies. I was pretty surprised that she wasn't at all happy that her boyfriend tried to make her happy with a gift of flowers and discretely threw them away and after a while (after she didn't notice that they were gone) told her that I threw them away and apologized that I didn't get the right thing. She said "that's ok" and that concluded any discussion on the topic. I did something that I thought would be considered sweet and instead of any thanks or appreciation I walk away feeling like I did something wrong. Any thoughts from anyone?

Teething or Sick...How do you tell?

My son is 7 months old and is teething, I can tell because he's chewing on everything and drooling like crazy! BUT about 14 days ago I got a cold virus (fever, runny nose, incredibly sore throat, body aches) which led to a stomach virus a few days later. I went to the doctor and found out it was a virus. About 10 days ago, my son got the same symptoms (runny nose, fever, fussy, not sleeping well), then it started with the diarrhea a few days later (just like mine). His fever was over 99 for about 5 days, but now it's gone. The diarrhea has almost cleared up, he just goes once or twice a day now, which isn't normal, but mine isn't normal yet either. But for the past 2 days he's been INCREDIBLY fussy! Every little thing makes him cry, you can't put him down without him crying and he's waking up 3 times a night, which he NEVER does. This kid is normally VERY happy and sleeps 12 hours a night and 4 hours during the day...and he's not even taking his daytime naps right now. Do you think he's still sick? Could it have turned into a sinus infection (even though he doesn't have a fever anymore) or do you think the virus isn't what's making him so incredibly fussy, it's the teething (even though I can't even see a white tip cutting thru yet). Any experienced parents help would be greatly appreciated :). Thank you

My dog is acting weird after he ate a bone?

I bought a dog bone at the store and gave it to my Boxer, Boaz. He usually scarfs chewbones down but he stopped halfway through and walked away, and then my parents said he was acting a little weird, like acting like he was gonna throw up, but he never did... So I went to the place where he ate the bone and noticed several sharp fragments. He is a boxer so he drools, but not excesively, but his lips are dripping slightly now and he's just laying on the floor. Could he have swollowed a sharp fragment or just have a bellyache from his sensative stomach??

That is not a dog rescue. A dog rescue does not "rely" on donations and does not help for a "fee", a dog rescue is started by someone who IS the donater, they pay for toys, food, crates, etc. If you would really like to help i suggest you foster a dog at a real dog rescue, that means you go to a rescue and you care for a dog that they have up for adoption, it helps make space for new dogs to come in. Techanically it is not adopting you are just caring for the dog UNTIL it gets adopted.

she never drools when she drinks and is drooling afterwards. she threw up everything she ate and drank today and keeps trying to poop but she can only poop a little bit at a time and it is infrequently.

Norfolk is a very nice place to live. It's on the Chesapeake Bay and Virginia Beach is next door on the Atlantic. Lots of water activities. Other surrounding cities are Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Suffolk, Hampton, Newport News and the Historic Triangle of Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown. The climate is moderate - you will see four seasons. It can definitely get warm in the summer, but you don't usually have severe winters. Usually it will snow some, but there have been winters without snow. Washington, DC and all those free museums, etc., are about 3.5 hours north. The Outer Banks of North Carolina and it's awesome nature and beaches are about 1.5 hours away. Norfolk is the financial and cultural hub of the region and they have great festivals at Town Point Park on the Elizabeth River downtown, and a minor league baseball team, the Norfolk Tides, who play on an excellent field downtown called Harbor Park. Like any city, you should look for neighborhoods that suit your budget and lifestyle. The area has lots to do and is a great place to live.

Teal. It's vibrant, but not too dark. It can also be sophisticated, instead of dark purple, which you can grow out of. The purple is also pretty harsh. Lighter colors make rooms look more open.

Dog sucking down 3 bowls of water, drooling all over - TOTALLY slimmy saliva instantly?

My dog has a clean automatic water bowl outside that has cool water in it, and an automatic feeder for her food. She is old now, and has a harder time moving arond, but hasn't appeared to be sick, although she has recently lost a lot of weight. She loves chicken treats from walgreens, but today wouldn't eat any. I brought her inside and put some of my little dogs food in front of her, which she's never allowed in when they are eating because she usually scarfs it all down completely, but she wouldn't touch it either. So I tried canned dog food, which she NEVER gets, and she wolfed it down completely like her old self - always acting like she is starving around any other food other than her own, (which she does like nad eat, but just greazes on all day since, once again, it is in an automatic feeder). Then she went to the "indoor" water bowl and drank and drank bowl after bowl as is she was dying of thirst. (Three full large size dog bowls). She was very sloppy about it, way more than usual, and then stood there with it just dripping and drooling out of her mouth. I went to wipe it off the floor, thinking it was just water, but it was sooooo slimmy and took tons of paper towels b/c it wouldn't soak in. How could so much of what she just instantly drank in, turn onto so much slime instantly??? She was NOT throwing water up, just drooling. So I put her back outside, which is when she did start throwing up all the canned food she just ate. When she was done, I called her back in but she didn't want to come back in... and she ALWAYS wants in. No signs of diahreah, never seen her throw up before, (although now I wonder since she has dropped sooo much weight so fast). I do live in Az. where we have hot weather already, but she sleeps in the shade all day but can't imagine her just being dehydrated considering her water never empty or too hot, but her nose IS very dry which is unusual for her too. She is now sleeping peacefully inside on the cool tile floor with no further symptoms other than the dry nose. Is the scarfing down water and all the SLIMEY saliva a sign of her dying? I'm assuming the throwing up was either because she scarfed down a 1/2 of a large can of pedigree which she's not used to, or because her she's been not eating - I wouldn't really know since here automatic feeder always has dog food in it, and she just ate too much???
